Hopsta
Mate of mine is having problems with his indicators, they seem to work randomly, the hazzards work fine all the time. Is there some kind of relay or is it the stalk that needs changing ? Car is not in warranty, so preferably avoid the stealer route. Cheers in advance Graham
UBM
Sounds like : 1. A dodgy relay - the indicator and hazards used to have separate ones; 2. A blown fuse or bulb - easy to check; 3. A loose wire/short-circuit.
Hopsta
Someone else has mentioned the relay to him, do you know where its located ?
UBM
I don't know where the relay is. I would check ALL the bulbs and fuses first as this is quicker.
Hopsta
Thanks DM... Now ScoTTy, Gren or SK anyone know where the relay is ??
Gren
Sorry, never had to get my hands dirty on that account. Would imagine its in the steering column?? Try the TT Forum, someone's bound to know. Would it be any different than in any other Golf/A3 variant?
Scotty
All the relays I've ever seen are under the dash just above the bonnet release and alongside the fuse panel. I'm not sure if this is where the indicator one is though. I sold my TT CD when I sold the car so can't look it up. As Gren says many of the guys on tt-forum have the CD plus the experience. CabGirl
[ QUOTE ] ...anyone know where the relay is ?? [/ QUOTE ] We had the same problem with our TT a few weeks ago - it was fixed under warranty but as far as I know, they replaced the relay which is located behind the stereo. Hope this helps! UBM
...why? do they put parts like this in such inaccessible places? It's bad enough changing bulbs - but relays, no thanks mam!

Scotty
Since you made me feel so guilty..... "its part of the hazzard warning switch I think its radio out unlip panel above radio release a retaining clip or three pull switch assembly into dash and lower out the radio hole to access and work on."
