Juddering on Stop

Has anyone come across anything similar to this?

On stopping the car seems to judder as if its about to stall (Multitronic gearbox) and then just resumes tickover. Its happening all the time now and is a little disconcerting.

The revs dont appear to drop, (about 900rpm) and the car doesnt actually stall.

Its booked in for a service in 2 weeks, but don't wait to wait if its potentially something serious.

Cheers,

Anthony

Don't know about this particular issue, but one tip is that if you get to the stage where you don't feel it safe to drive any more, call out Audi Assistance and say so, rather than trying to persuade the dealer to give you an earlier slot. They're obliged to pitch up and take it in for you.

My clutch started smelling of smoke and the dealer stuck to their 2 week timetable, but tipped me off that if Audi Assistance (a separate operation) pick up the car and take it in to the same dealer, they get priority and the car has to be looked at within 48 hours; these are Audi UK franchising rules.

You also get a loan car guaranteed, even at zero hours notice, but it'll be a non-Audi (they get one from National rather than waiting for a spare courtesy car at the dealers).

Thats a good tip, cheers. Actually the dealer was very good, asked me to take it in this morning so a technician could come and have a test drive. And of course the car behaved perfectly!

Apparently they have had a number of similar problems, so I was saved the embarrassment of 'Of course it does sir, please go away and stop wasting our time'.

Unfortunately looks like the solution is a new gearbox, glad its under warranty!
