What Tyres should I go for?

Ok I need two new tyres for a Focus 195/60/R15/V

I am thinking of switching from Michelin Energy XV1's (which are no longer available) to Dunlop SP Sport 01's. I have seen some very good reviews on these with them being very grippy both wet and dry and incredibly quiet and comfortable whilst maintaining sporting characteristics (errr could be advertising blurgh !!!). Only draw back on these seem to be wear and some owners have noticed increased wear rates over other similar tyres. Anyway I was wondering if any of you lot have tried them out or have any other recomendations?

Other tyres considered are Michelin Energy E3A, Michelin Pilot Primacy, Pirelli P6000, Continental EcoContact.

I suppose all of these are pretty much the same but I am definitely looking for tyres with low rolling resistance (therefore quiet), good grip wet and dry and good life would be nice.

Cheers

Si

I can't comment on many of the tyres you mention, but I did go through a lot of sets of Pirelli P6000 when I used to have a company car.

I had a budget I could go to & was often offered these. I rarely felt the need to complain about them. Gripped pretty well all of the time & wore extremely well too. Would get about 35k out of a set (Mainly Mway driving). Between these I did have a set of Dunlops (but can't remember which ones). Unfortunately I've had a real disliking to Dunlops ever since. Very noisy tyre, wore poorly & didn't grip very well either.

Hope this helps in some way?

I really think you have to own the same model of car as someone to recommend the tyres to them. The driving characteristics can be so different from a pair of the same model tyres on one car to what you might find with the same tyres on another.

That said, we did have a Focus. Can't remember what it had on it mind you!
