drmbradley
The missus is considering a 2.5Tdi Treg (possibly sport trim) without air suspension. Should I be excited by this or not. My concern is that the engine is too small for the 2.5 tonnes of car and that without the air suspension it will be missing most of the tricks. I should state that this will probably be a fair weather 4x4 with very occasional light off road action. So what do you recommend? Many thanks! PS sorry for cross post here but VW fora are quiet today.

drmbradley
Hmm thats what I thought 2.5 tonnes and only 170ish bhp, yes its torquey but still... I have a weekend testdrive from tonight so will let people know what I think but as ever I value the collective brains that is TSNs input.
Chav
i have to agree. nothing exciting about that at all. i'd try and talk her out of getting a 3x4 altogether. if you must have a breezeblock on wheels, get it...not an X3

What sort of mpg would you expect? and what is the tax %
drmbradley
I couldn't get any BMW as I resent having to pay extra for the lesson on how to use indicators. Let alone the awfull X3
drmbradley
Its about 28mpg and sits in the top company car tax braket with 265 CO2 so 35% and its not Euro IV. I will have to be a very luxurious cruise to win me over.
