sayerbloke
OK, been sent a message on ICQ from a mate. Here it is: "right, ive decided to get another car, now, gonna start looking seriously next 2/3 weeks, (next pay day) so far im considering, MR2, Celica, 320i/323i, Pug 206 GTi can you think of any nice cars that can be bought for 6k or less and have a 0-60 of around 7-8 seconds and that wont arse rape me on insurance? an MR2 would cost me bout 950 quid fully comp, with me wacking up the first payment to 250" He currently drives a riced Corsa 1.2i. He`s 22 and has been driving for about 2 years I think. Personally, I`d say if he gets something with RWD he`s gonna end up wrapping it around a tree. I did once try explaining the differences between FWD and RWD but it wasn't really getting anywhere. But anyway, that`s up to him. OK, that`s the task, anyone want to contribute anything? Mollox
yes, point him to here, make him register. Show him the WTF01 new car post for starters then go, sit back and enjoy a cold beer. Job done. Unless he's a knob, in which case scrap the above
sayerbloke
Oh, sure, after I question his driving ability and say his car is riced in the same post! . OK, I`ll enlighten him as to the amazingness that is TSN next time I see him online.

Rustynuts
If you're quick you can still edit your post to remove the content. Only thing is that you now have to edit your second statement where you say "Oh, sure, after I question his driving ability and say his car is riced in the same post!" Damn, now Ive got to edit mine aswell.
NewNiceMrMe
Yes, he should come and speak to us. Let's see what he has to say and quiz his tastes and requirements as with everyone else. But...did he say this... [ QUOTE ] and that wont arse rape me on insurance? [/ QUOTE ] If he did, he'll choose the MR2. Betcha.
sayerbloke
The first post in speechmarks were his words exactly. I just copy/pasted it from my history file. He may well go for an MR2... even though I told him I wasn't impressed with the couple that I test drove a while back. £950 a year insurance for an MR2 is seriously pricey though. sayerbloke
Oh, and if you do read this, Pete, sorry for saying the Corsa was riced, but most of us would hope that you wouldn't put altezza's, phat exhaust, cone air filter and spinner hubcaps, etc on a 323i if you got one! sayerbloke
It`s a Corsa. Which is a Vauxhall. Which is based on an Opel. Which is somewhat more German. Though the whole GM connection would suggest American, too. Though that defeats my argument.
R32Ash
How about a Polo GTI ? They can be had for around 6k in a private sale now. A quality machine if you ask me! (Only you didn't - and I'm biased anyway ) Ash.

Ian_C
106 GTi Near idential twin of the VTS but without the image problem. Goes like stink, way lighter than a Clio, 120 brake is more than enough in this pint pot. You can secure a good one, circa 1998 reading 50k, for around £3,500 so he can save the change for his next car. Goes without saying £6000 would easily cover a decent A3 1.8 T Sport with optional air, although mileage would be higher. Ian C
