ian_m
I have just read Auto Express and they feature the Astra VXR, apparently it will be a 2.0 with 240bhp , it will have an estimated 0-60 of 6.1 (quicker than a boxster 2.7 ), estimated top speed of 155mph and an estimated price tag of £18,995 If I get a boxster it will be nearly double the price, although it will obviously be far superior than an astra, the performance will be the same
Mollox
Basically, and in plain English, Vauxhall are fecking you! If you want to sample real performance just pray you get one as a company car then!
ian_m
yeah you are right about the , even the Focus ST is gonna have 24obhp and the all new Civic Type-R will have 250bhp I would love one of those at work!, but i fear that it wouldnt last long, the way some of my colleagues drive (or try to!) it would be killed in seconds! I think (badge or not ) that it is going to be a stunner Registering my interest this morning - if I can find a decent dealer who's name doesen't start with the letters A and C As every other dealer here seems to be Talk about a monopoly
scooby_simon
Umm.... I feel the need to invite an old friend around for dinner and suggest she brings one of her company cars with her. Just perhaps mentioning that I might buy a Astra VXR.
bazza_g
The VXR sales manager at the dealer I got my VXT from has ordered an Astra VXR for himself - the UK dealer 'raz it round a track' day is in a couple of weeks time, he sounded genuinely excited about getting to drive it for the first time. Though I still have my doubbts about that much power in a FWD only car

GCab
They are coming up in the world, and brands do change. My parents still think of Audi as a mid-range brand (which it was when they had their Audi 80) and came up with something like "Well, we didn't want anything posh like a BMW or Mercedes, so we thought we might get something average like an Audi or Toyota". This caused my (Mazda-driving) brother endless delight at Xmas.
R32North
But there had better be a VERY special chassis and suspension set-up on the VX otherwise its going to be all over too soon for some hapless VX enthusiast! Also, I wouldn't worry. A fast Astra is worlds apart from a Boxster
