1.8T
The alloys i want to get off a guy have an ET40 offset, would this have a detrimental effect on the car and would the wheels stick out or in?
TheVon
I'm not 100% sure but I think the wheels would be 5 mm out - like using 5 mm wheel spacers. I believe there is ET 35 on A3, but as I said - not sure!
1.8T
so would going from 35ET to 40ET make the wheels stick out further or go in further?
Mori
They would stick in, and would probably hit the suspension (shocks) and the wheel wells when turning the wheels. But it might -just- fit.
1.8T
So would spacers help bring the wheels out a bit more? The alloys i'm getting are 18x8 et40
teejoo
It's quite simple actually, if the rims have an offsset of 40mm, and you would prefer, for example, 35mm; you should get 5mm spacers.
teejoo
Forgot to tell: my rims are 8*17, with 35mm offset and 225/45 tyres, and the tyres come just as far as the arches, wich is perfect for me. Still need to reduce the immense gap though
