craigyb
Finally got my S8 back on Friday, been 2 weeks without it at Lancaster Audi Manchester. It was in for the water incursion into the foot wells, intermittent fuel gauge reading empty even when petrol is in the tank. And more importantly the damage the dealer inflicted on my dash when changing the sat nav unit (twice). So I goes to pick it up, visual inspection is fine, all ooks new and clean. Felt the mats, soaking wet through, well I thought they had been dried out as a service guy at Lancaster told me so on the Wednesday, "you can't have your car back sir until it's all dried out". So I drive home, first of all the heaters all all off and never been used so no testing there, just wack a new one in. Then I see my parrot kit isn't lit up anymore, so that needs sorting, don't know what it is yet, but you have thought they would have sorted it out if it worked when it went in. As the mats are wet I wack the aircon upto 25 deg C on both sides and 20 mins later I'm home, looking at the car on the drive all the windows are steamed up, the car is full of condenstaion. Took the mats out and dried them over the radiators properly. Why do we have to put up with these F4ckwits when we spend so much money on our cars. it's gonna be a few calls to Audi UK and the Audi Lancaster service manager with some choicewords and descriptions of their mechanics on Monday morning Craig
pnifa1
Sadly most Audi mechanics work to the same low standards as most of the rest of the motor trade (if you are the exception to the rule and reading this, please don't take offence, I don't mean you!) add to this they probably don't work on very many A8's at all so they are not familiar with the model, and you get crap service. Associated parts/systems that are in the vacinity of the work being done damaged and/or not put back properly etc.... What makes it really upsetting in our cases is they're charging us £90 per hour for this s**te quality rubbish!! I personally do nearly all my own work as I'm fortunate enough to have an engineering background and exceptional facilities at home including access to a four post lift, but I realise most people are not in a position to do their own work (or probably aren't technically able / don't wish to anyway) so the dealers should bloody well give Rolls Royce quality work and service, after all most of these cars cost £50K plus when new!! and if they did we'd probably be happier to pay such a high hourly rate... Give them hell, they musn't be allowed to get away with it!! Regards, Paul N
SneakyMcC
[ QUOTE ] Give them hell, they musn't be allowed to get away with it!! [/ QUOTE ] Yep, I'd go along with that. Might I add finding out who owns the company, and then that company and ask for an explanation! Paul42Q has reminded me of a conversation with the wife yesterday. These stealers are always spouting off about their A8 specialists. Does that mean only he should be working on our cars? The guy that has just worked on mine broke some ally part in the suspension, he is not the A8 specialist, should I be suing for fraud?
UBM
Sock it to 'em! I'd be asking for an A8 courtesy car while they're fixing it!
craigyb
I'm on my 3rd A8 courtesy car from them, in fact I'm spending more time in their cars than I am in mine. Funny thing though is that everytime I get back in mine to take it home and return it, I realise just how damm fast it is. Craig
