audikid
Car arrived mid April last year and have just passed the 20k mark. For those 'old timers' on TSN may recall that for the 1st 3 months of owning the car I had as many problems as buying a British Leyland car circa 1976. Things have improved but still have a monthly visit to the dealer to sort out the alarm and the hood has failed 4 times, each time a different microswitch was to blame. The anis leather is not standing up too well to family life (never really expected it too!). The drivers seat is grubby round the edges and it always comes back from the dealer with added oil somewhere around the interior. Economy over 20k has been 29.4mpg which I'm not unhappy with. Most driving is either fast motorway or crawling around London. Got 18.5k out of the front tyres and 19k until the 1st service - impressed with both numbers. But with a car this good looking its easy to forget the hassle and will run it up to the end of the warranty. I'll be very interested to see what the value is with the high miles...... Totally sold on the multitronic transmission - it would be one reason to buy another Audi. It's never been caught out - great in manual mode and relaxing in auto. In reality it only takes the sun to come out, put the roof down (hoping all the microswitchs are feeling fit!) and all is forgiven. Chav
weird how 2 similar cars can have problems or not.... i have a 2004 3.0 sport multitronic, brilliant black with anis leather. its done 27,000 miles in 10 months, hasnt had a single problem, and looks brand new... including the seats. (and seats looking new is despite having driven quite a lot with roof down when its raining lightly... which gets loads of crap on the seats on the back. but a quick wipe and brand new again !) and i havent changed any tyres yet... plenty of tread left still (dunlop sp's). and the car has to survive mud lanes/roads every day too. i'd definitely have another
lmmlmmam
Glad to hear things have settled down a bit AK. Mines due its first service any time now (19k). Will be the first time I've been to the dealer since getting the 3.0. Cabrioj is spot on there is definately much more variablility in the build quality than Audi's reputation would lead you to expect.
