Insurance Jon
could have been one of the lads from RS246.com.
Botang
RS4 was very poorly at the top end of the strip, the RS6 saloon was quick, 12.9 I think, Re V8 A**. I had a few three goes in my A8 all within 0.1 of a second of each other the best being 15.003.
activa
V8 *** was the car in question.Didn't see the RS6 run but guessed it would be in the late 12's! 15 secs is good for your A8 too! Most depressing line-up though was RS Focus v Clio 182. 15.8 & 15.9 respectively-I'm sure they are both great cars in their own right but when my standard 150bhp CRX V-Tec used to run 15.2/15.3 regular as clockwork,it makes those two times for highly rated cars seem a bit mediocre! Botang
V8 A** was a black RS6 Saloon with cream leather, the RS4 Avant was Silver. You may have noticed the common link with the quick cars, most of them were 4WD. The Focus and the Clio both being FWD would have struggled yesterday, on saying that it is interesting seeing different cars up there, V-tec's generally stuggle, but for some reason CRX's fly. activa
Apologies for not recognising the car as what it was,of course it is the same car.Only saw a 13.1 but had to leave early so obviously missed his best run. Can't agree with the FWD comment though,as my mate ran a 14.5 yesterday in his Civic Type R and would have suffered the same traction problems as the others. That's probably about as good as that cars gonna do and he's not exactly a quarter mile veteran. However,a couple of CRX's that go up there are owned by friends and they are supercharged-so if you see them running regular 14.8's to 15 secs you know why. Did you used to go up there years ago? How good was it to be able to do 10 runs without even thinking about it? Sadly those days are long gone!! Botang
You just have to pick the right day, being the first one of the season is always going to be busy. I am fortunate to live only 5 miles away if that, so if I really wanted to I could go up sign on, go home for a few hours then head back up when everyone else is leaving 14.5 from a Civic Type R is very good, have seen a lot of them running high 15's. I have some CRX's running very low times, from memory they were running in the 13's if not consistant 14's, they must be the same ones The comment about FWD came more from my mate than myself as I didnt even see 1 car start as I ws sitting in the fire up lane all day.
