carlos50
Hi guys. Finally picked up my S8 on Friday. I have found a sticky patch on dash top where a radar device has been removed, does anybody know of a solution which will remove the sticky crap without discolouring my dash. Also my passenger side exterior mirror is loose how can i fix it. I totally love this car its the dogs bo****ks.The phone upgrade question has been asked loads of late, does anybody have any answers. My handset is missing so a new phone is needed. Will the facelift Nokia wire into the pre facelift car if i put the new type arm rest in ?. Botang
As far as the phone kit goes I think it all depends on if you have what they call a Cullman Car Kit installed by the factory. If so you can get different cradles that just plug into the the existing kit. This is only from memory, have a search for Cullman and see what comes up. Chris_B
Congrats on the new toy! If the sticky patch is the backing glue from velcro pads or something similar, sometimes small squirts of WD40 will soften it so that you can get it off with a lint-free cloth and a bit of patience. I've never known it to mark the vinyl, either (tested on black interior). If there's a really large blob, heat it up with a hairdryer on warm and take the majority of it off with a cloth you're happy to throw away. Of course, you could always stick some more velcro there and invest in a new radar detector; the S8 doesn't encourage slow driving!
UBM
I found furniture polish and a duster managed to work some sticky off my dash.....
pnifa1
Most "sticky" type stuff can be removed very effectively with white spitit (Turps substitute), and it won't damage the plastic surfaces. You'll need to wipe over with a cloth and soapy water afterwards though to remove the residue of the turps as it's smelly! Paul Newman
