Damp in footwell

Lifted passenger side front mat yesterday to find a soggy spot on carpet beneath. Not overjoyed, as you can imagine, but can find no obvious source of damp. The door seals seems to be fine. The drainage holes are not blocked under windscreen and there's no obvious water dropping down from behind the glovebox. Has anybody experienced this? If so, any obvious causes? Thanks chaps/chappesses.

Hi, not sure if this is relevant but in the golf the window regulator seal was an issue and could leak. It would not be obvious as the drain holes would be unblocked etc and not apparently leaving marks on the side of the footwell. It would always show the water in the middle which is where it would collect. Not sure if the Audi's have the same style regulators but might be worth considering.
