crasher
I've not had my 02-plate S8 long, but have just realised that the cable from the armrest phone cradle is not connected to anything! I assume that something somewhere is missing, and probably removed by the stealer who supplied the car, but what is missing?? Any help would be appreciated
craigyb
A Cullman control unit maybe under the arm rests, that's what was in my 02 S8. Craig
crasher
It's a Cullman cradle. The cable runs out the back of the cradle and through a hole in the armrest (underside). However the end-connector is lose and theres no apparent socket to plug it in to. Hey ho.
mrfirepro
Hi Crasher, I am looking for the cradle and have the socket. Are you interested in selling the cradle. The socket is in the trinket tray underneath the armrest, to the front of the car. It is in the horizontal face and is quite difficult to see. I hope this helps. Does your car have the aerial on one of the rear wings, if it does it is more than likley that all the other kit is also present. I can send pics if needed. My car is also an 02. crasher
Yes, the car has a whip-antenna aerial on the NS wing. I'd sort of guessed that this was for the TV/Radio, but it seems to have enough windings and stuff under its protective sleeve to feed many items. Ta for the tip on the socket - I'll take a look today (when its light).
crasher
The socket was there. Plugged it all in and it works a treat. Many thanks. Would never have found it!
mrfirepro
Don't spose you wanna sell it too me now. I'm glad it worked out for you. Do you get the sound through the cars speakers?
crasher
I'll hang onto it for now, even though I have to use my old handset. As for the sound, I think it is comming through the speakers - its a bit indeterminate, rather like listening to a mono broadcast...
