Calm Chris
Nice one, loved the way he did the drift along the length of the building wall. All that abuse, I wouldn't want to own the car 2nd hand!

TP27
Great stuff...all we need is snow, winter tyres and a few JCB's to Tango round!!
Calm Chris
Could we put some bails of hay round the lamp posts? I'll end up hitting metal otherwise! He really is good, then again the camera and edit were good jobs. So is this a prof job or some brave amateur job?
Daemon
I actually posted this in the R32 videos thread last night too.. He's an amature driver, and he's pretty new with the video editting software as well. Uses ULEAD Video Studio 8 if I recall correctly. As for the comment about abusing the car above. Abusing it how? How is sliding around on a low friction surface abusing the car? He's not crashing it into anything, and the load on the drivetrain is actually lower than it is on dry pavement during a hard launch. Bit more torque going to the rear than normal, but that's what AWD is for afterall. ian

Daemon
I mean all wheel drive. Be it Haldex, or Torsen or whatever. It's there to put power to all four wheels, not just two, and wouldn't be on the car if it wasn't meant to be used. I'm taking issue with the comment above about this guy "abusing" his car. I don't consider drifting in the snow with an AWD car, to be abuse. ian

Calm Chris
Daemon- You'd give the guy £22k for the car after watching the video then? I'd rather go for one (not that I need to) with out this type of 'careful' owner evidence! Not saying it will mess up the car, R32's are strong, but I'd prefer one that had been used in less agressive mode. It's like the dilema that goes with test piloting a car for a potential buyer. Do you get in a cold car, spank it for 20 minutes and then say to the prospect, well of course I never drive it like that, Its cherished and I'm very carefull (not). I'd walk away from any such demo with serious questions about the way the car has been treated. Max out any components of a car on a very regular basis and you know there's a trade off regarding long life and maintenance issues down the line! So take issue mate, horses for courses I reckon. But don't talk out of your.........ar5e

Rachel
[ QUOTE ] I don't consider drifting in the snow with an AWD car, to be abuse. ian [/ QUOTE ] I agree. Gravel, sand, dirt (and/or dry grass) or tarmac are definitely candidates for the abuse argument (as is mud - as it can be abrasive if it gets in the wrong spots), but not fresh mid-US powder snow on top of sheet ice. It's like walking through (f'ing cold) fog if you've never tried getting through it on foot. Is driving through fog classed as car abuse? What about a drenched skidpan? You might be able to win on a technicality if the area the cars are on had been salted or sanded, but not on virgin, falling snow. The second video this guy made is called Blizzard05 for a reason. Abuse on snow is when you hit the wall, not drift past it.

MattR32
Sort of. I now park it behind a mates house about a mile away (twenty minute walk). Hardly convenient but it's totally hidden (although outside) from the road and I think I'm confident enough to FINALLY get the damage sorted. Didn't want to get it done only to have it vandalised again!

MattR32
I do indeed. I made the startlig discovery last night that if I run the whole way, it takes under half the time! Worth the effort though. Being so wound up was not relaxing.
