bazza_g
Before you say it, I know its probably my fault for buying a Vauxhall !!!!! Here's the puzzle, when my next door neighbour uses his blipper to unlock his van (Nissan Primastar which is a Vauxhall Vivaro under the body) it sets my flippin alarm off The VXT has been in the garage for the last couple of days with various techs talking to various head office bods - but not a lot has happened. I think this is going to take some hand on approach to sort out. The dealer are very helpful but can't see anything to 'fix' so they are stumped. I've suggested that they change the code the alarm is using as my idea was that if the codes/frequencies are similar my alarm may think its being tampered with or scanned or something so goes off in self defence ??? Today I've been told that my alarm code/frequency is set and cannot be changed Has anyone heard of someone elses blipper setting off another cars car alarm ?? To make matters worse, our alocated parking spaces are next to eachother ! The major issue is my neighbour goes to work at between 5:45 and 6am - thus my alarm triggering isn't making me too popular on my road
JamesB
Maybe I'm being a little simplistic here, Bazza, but can't you just ask him to use his key to unlock the van? On my car, turning the key in the lock disarms the alarm. Of course, this may not work with a Nissan but I thought it was the case for most cars. Maybe see you tomorrow. If it comes to it you just demand a new alarm installed, or a new car as this one is not fit for purpose.... Extreame, but might increase the motivation at VX ? danksy
feck, what a nightmare! Could try top gear who could do a comedy feature on it!? Have you tried Thorney's vx220.org website?
felixthecat1
Take it back to the dealer and insist they do someting about it. It's not your neighbours fault or yours. Blame VX, they need to sort it. Christ you have car insurance based on a working alarm. Surely if it isn't working your insurance is void. Get it sorted, get tough with them. Good luck mate. Sparky
Your alarm isn't operating on the 426/433MHz band is it? A friend at work has had two VX200's and both suffered from the alarm being triggered when a neighbour set their wireless house alarm as it's on the same (crowded) frequency. bazza_g
Cheers for the advice gents - James, I'm going to use that one when I see him this evening as a temp measure whilst I go medieval on VX I'll be back on at VX tomorrow afternoon as they should have heard back from head office - and I will be requesting a new alarm unit or another nice alarm system to be added (Cheers Scooby). Sparky - Its funny you should mention the wireless doorbell causing problems as that's what I've been hearing on the vx220 forum !! I seem to be the only one with trouble from another cars blipper !!
