[Audi A3/S3] NO replacement A3 windscreens in UK!? - Help!

Got a big crack on my A3 windscreen (2005 model w/ rain sensor).

Have been told by Autoglass that there is zero stock in the country and Audi have a 2 week lead time for replacements out of the factory.

Anyone know any different as I ain't driving 'round with that crack for a fortnight.

i cant belive that ??? thats awful ! have you been in touch with a dealer ? they must be able to provide a car or something , what if a brick went though ?

My lease company have now gone through the RAC, rather than Autoglass.

They have two on the system, but they think they've been ordered for other customers. The reckon it's a special order also.

It's not as though the car has just been released. If they can't do it this week, I'll get another car

i thougtht hey had to keep everything in stock or provide you with a car? or am i wrong ?

Not sure, but if I can't get the windscreen I'll be on to the leasing co. to arrange another car 'til it's sorted.

I remember hearing a few reports of late, on how much strength lies in the windscreen in the event of an accident etc, so will use that to sort something out.

This happened to me once when i had my back window smashed through in my TT coupe. Ended up ringing round all the windscreen people in the Yellow pages until i found one that could source one. Stil took 3 days though. So not good.
