BURTON
Iam doing some DIY at home and had what was the Computer room replastered. This is where the man from BT installed the LIne for the ADSL with a spare phone socket. Now as the computer room will be my bedroom can I put a microfilter on the main line and still get ADSL, as if I had Wonadoo.
BURTON
Anyone? ???
Rustynuts
Yes, yes, I'm coming. From reading your post, it sounds as though you have two lines into the building. One main line elsewhere, and a separate one for adsl in the computer room. Is this correct? Or did the man run an extension from the main socket to the computer room. If this is the case (as I suspect) and you only have one line, it will be adsl and as long as you are still subscribing to a service, you'll just need to use a microfilter for the computer modem, and a separate microfilter for the phone. If your microfilters are double outlet then even easier.
BURTON
Thanks me man.. Its one line into the house with a splitter in the loft with the split line going into the computer room with a ADSL socket and Phone line socket on a Wall type plug.. Just want to know if I have to still use this split line. As I don't use any Mircofilters etc.
Rustynuts
Right, the splitter in the loft sounds as though it has a microfilter function aswell. I think you'd be ok using the other line with a microfilter for the computer. I'm not certain but I don't think there's any reason why not. peterb
If the signal is split in the loft, you'll find that the adsl signals don't get through to any other socket.
BURTON
So I will have to put that in the loft with a wireless router!
Rustynuts
Right, no adsl on the other line then. Sorry for my misleading post. You could always disconnect the splitter in the loft and have adsl going down the other line, then use a filter on it there, couldn't you?
