Hello everyone. I'm new to the whole forum thing so I hope I'm doing everything right confused.gif. I bought a 1999 audi A4 it was hard for me to choose between the 1.8 turbo 4 and the 2.8 V6. I ended up going for the V6 because it was better equiped and seemed much faster then the 1.8.

Now that I have it i'm looking for any and all advice any from all you geniouses notworthy.gif. Looking for any performance upgrades, chips, exhaust any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all,

Shawn

Well Warhawk!! In terms of performance upgrade your limited i'm afraid confused.gif. If you chip the 2.8 you'll get less increase in bhp than say the 1.8T it will only be around 15-20bhp at the most i reckon even with air filter and exhaust. Moving the bhp from the 193bhp to say 210-215bhp.

As your in the U.S i reckon you'll much more info...especially as the 2.8q are far more common there than they are here in the UK. For chipping i believe GIAC and Neuspeed offer one for the 2.8 and induction kits are available from LLTEK performance... www.lltek.com

Exhaust wise if you can get it a nice Miltek cat-back would sound lovely...i think Stratmosphere tuning here www.stratmosphere.com deal with them in the U.S.

You Can Supercharge the 2.8!! a company in the US called PES Tuning specialise in a supercharger kit but as you can imagine it costs alot of money..i think it's like $4995!!! and gives you 295bhp and from what i've heard is some serious grunt in terms of instant power!! blush.gif

Anyway check it out.. www.pes-tuning.com they also deal with milltek and GIAC chips grin.gif

Hope this helped....remember you can also upgrade the suspension which in my opinion is poor originally. I changed my setup and it made the world of difference.

WOW! Thanks so very much for the advice! I bought the used car instead of a new one so i could have right around 5K to stick into it, so i'll be looking into that supercharger very closely. Again, thank you very much for your time. Any cosmetic adive, such as windows or rims? Like i said i'm new at this ha ha.

As mentioned the Sportecs are great!! in the U.S they are sold by Edge Racing. www.edgeracing.com

If they are are too expensive then i'd just invest in some RS4 Replica wheels which would look lovely. I think edge racing sell them too. but i'm sure you can shop around for cheaper deals.

I'd also recommend an RS4 Mesh Grill...and perhaps an upgrade to Xenon lights if you already havn't got them.

Body parts wise how about an Rs4 replica front with S4 side skirts and rear bumper? And if ya want a spoiler go for a new M3 lip spolier.

Here are some ideas to help you out:

I'm not normaly a fan of after-market wheels on Audi's, but there is a pic that has been posted in the past of a black cabriolet with some multi-spoke Sportecs.

Maybe someone knows the one I mean and can post it again ?

It looks awesome ..

Aside from that, I'd be tempted to leave it pretty much as it is - the subtle factor is one of it's strengths.

But hey, its your call, and I know f*ck all about anything !
