Ari
Went to Liverpool and back just after Christmas. Twice. Total 1,100 miles. Then London, left the car parked for nearly a fortnight, and back. Total 500 miles. Then last weekend Bath and back, about 200 miles. Plus normal running about. And I've not cleaned it (cos been too busy, bad weather, too cold etc etc) in all that time. And it just looks "a bit" dirty. It got to a certain level of dirtiness on the first Liverpool run, and now it hovers around that level, in fact after the Bath trip in torrential rain it actually looked slightly cleaner the next day! I think I may be onto something here...
UBM
Mine always looks clean - even when it is "dirty"???? I think..

NewNiceMrMe
I wash mine after a week of 320 mile motoring and I get obsessed with it being unclean if it rains all weekend and I can't get it washed. If I wash it on a Saturday, and then we go somewhere on a Sunday - I'll re-wash the alloys to get rid of the slightest trace of brakedust before night sets in on the Sunday! The obsession highlights something I HATE about the M3 - the rear wheels and lack of any mudflaps (for obvious reasons) at the rear (and indeed the front) splatter muck and grime up the car far too quickly. Every week at this time of year, by the time it has reached Wednesday, the rear of my car looks filthy - and I detest it!!!! Even if there were ever so tiny mudflaps that stick down an inch or two for an M3, I'd put them front and rear - it'd save me a lot of hassle every week because of the tar marks that flick up and need properly removing after the normal wash! Chav
the audi cab doesnt have mudflaps either, and i live down a muddy country lane... the solution .... my hose pipe is permanently at the ready and i quickly hose her down daily. takes a few seconds, and keeps her looking gleaming
NewNiceMrMe
See that doesn't work on mine - it is A1 grime, the really nasty clingy stuff. I get the Karcher out many times during the week but it doesn't lift the film of muck that coats the back, no matter what. Mud alone, yes it would - but thats not what covers mine. Chav
well it just wouldnt be would it a quick hose of mine after a 500 mile round trip darn 'south and back gets her shiny and new looking again. must be the exceptional audi paint quality
NewNiceMrMe
Actually (sarcasm aside!) you might have a point. With weather and such I haven't had the chance to use the Meguiars 3 stage stuff yet so there is no doubt it'll be easier to wash once I have. Luke
If you have enough wax on your car, when it rains it tends to wash all the dirt off, does with mine anyway
NewNiceMrMe
If you had bothered reading the post you have replied to you would have realised that is what I have just said... Get a life...as you say yourself.
Luke
Where does it say you have loads of wax on your car? You only say you wash your car. Kind of a differnt thing. Dont copy my one liners please :smir
NewNiceMrMe
You can't read can you!!!! I say that the fact I HAVEN'T had chance to do so, is probably why the grime is sticking more.... Try reading it again! Oh, and I'll write what I want thank you, particularly to someone who sees fit to say "Get a life" to what was a perfectly reasonable post meant to instigate conversation about either of the programmes. Thank you.
Luke
[ QUOTE ] You can't read can you!!!!/quote] You are right M3Me I missed your other post totally I now look some what silly. By the way your other post seemed to be more about how you could watch 2 programmes at the same time rather than their content, hence my rather sarcastic comment, no offence Luke

Durrsaku
I do my best to clean mine weekly if it is not raining the whole weekend. waxed it this week and it looked excellent. unfortunately only for two days as it started raining again and it has got some mud now. will see how quick it cleans on saturday. I did use the clay bar too and was amazed with the results.

Wait until you get it back from them and see if you're happy then. My dealer made a right mess of mine when they washed it. Fine swirl marks all over it. It looks like they used a broom to clean it. It took a good polish and wax (by me) to get rid of their marks. So beware - just do it yourself, you know you'll take more care of it. And Moro blue will be so easy to mark... BROOM.. that's what the Eastern European type uses at our place (I'm not even going to give you lot a clue). It makes me cringe when I see him 'clean' cars .We had a black car in the showroom last week , it looked like a 3 year old ...Nasty(it was new). When I bought my car I told the dealer not to use any product on it just to give it a de-wax and wash. I said that 'my boys' were going to supaguard it. Yeah right they were! I did it myself with Zymol all the way . I'm using Meguiar's soft wash gel now though , Zymol Clear is just off the scale at over £20 a bottle. Can't beat the wax though and now after 5 months I don't think there's a single swirl mark on the whole car! It looks stunning after washing and drying . The gallery pictures really don't do it any justice at all
UBM
My stealer usually "does not have time " to wash it - but the last time I was lucky - it can back looking good!
Ari
Ok, so this is what I'm talking about. Over one month since I cleaned it (and bear in mind that I'm known to wash my car twice a week sometimes), plus Moro Blue which is a sod for showing the dirt. Car has been to Liverpool and back twice, London and back, Bath and back, Bristol and back, plus numerous trips round and about. So, over a month plus over 2,000 miles in winter. And this is how it looks!
NewNiceMrMe
Yes, quite, is is absolutely filthy!!!! How can you!!!! Shame on you Ari!!!! I mean it too - it looks horridly unclean and I can't go a week without cleaning mine no matter what the weather!
