Urgent PC help needed!

help! when I open MS access, a message appears "a problem occured while MS access was communicating with the OLE server or Active X control" I cannot install Access again (the wizard wont load) and I dont have norton. can you please help me!

If you have windows xp, you could try "system restore" and go back to a day when it last worked?

Have you changed your internet security settings recently, this is normally where any Active X control options are controlled!

Have you told Access to use a Startup form?

Sounds like it's trying to load a form you may have deleted or edited, or copied the Access DB from another computer to your own, which does not have the installed controls the other machine did.

If it's doing this before it opens a DB, changes are the Startup form has been set.

With Access closed, hold down your Shift key, double click on the Access Icon to run it, and only let go of Shift once it's fully loaded.

Do you get the error then?
