Rustynuts
If you have windows xp, you could try "system restore" and go back to a day when it last worked?
A8_Tony
Or check the microsoft support website, generally it's pretty good Have you changed your internet security settings recently, this is normally where any Active X control options are controlled! Sparky
Have you told Access to use a Startup form? Sounds like it's trying to load a form you may have deleted or edited, or copied the Access DB from another computer to your own, which does not have the installed controls the other machine did. If it's doing this before it opens a DB, changes are the Startup form has been set. With Access closed, hold down your Shift key, double click on the Access Icon to run it, and only let go of Shift once it's fully loaded. Do you get the error then?
