CraigR
My new car did not come with multichanger fitted, reading on vagparts about purchasing one it says the lead from the head unit will already be run inside the car, is this correct on an A4 avant 2004 ?? if so can someone tell me where it is ? Sparky
Oooh, I'm also keen to know this. After digging around where I thought the cable might appear, I found nothing. Audi do an optional "CD Multichanger Preparation" package, so I don't think they do come as standard.
CraigR
It says on VAGparts most models have the lead, maybe someone in the know will enlighten us Sparky
Chav
have you looked behind the head unit etc? personally i think a cd changer in the boot is flippin annoying. if i was going to retrofit one, it would be in the glove compartment. i've only had cars with cd changers as standard, but i guess you can retrofit the parcel shelf in the glovecompartment for the changer if thats not there? have a root behind the glove compartment and see what cables are there at the mo (its dead easy to remove...start by prizing off the side panel etc)
CraigR
The shelf is in the glove box,so maybe the cable is there, will have a wee look later
IanHo
Didn't find it on mine, after having the glove box out.
Chav
[ QUOTE ] Didn't find it on mine, after having the glove box out. [/ QUOTE ] yes but if he's got the glove box shelf its going to be much much easier to fit a changer in the glove compartment than the boot. changers from vagparts come with the lead if i'm not mistaken in any case. so you should only need some stereo removal keys and a screwdriver (with a hex bolt addon thingy)
IanHo
Agreed, dead easy job 5 bolts for the glove box, drop's out, punch out blanking panel in back of glove box. Remove stereo feed lead round, refit glove box & stereo plug in auto changer, jobs a good un.
UBM
I had one fitted in the boot to my old, old A4, about four years ago. Cost me about 300 notes....more money to the stealers.... Ouch!
