Running 0 gauge power cable

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I want to run 0 gauge power cable for my amplifiers but am a little unsure how people have done this? (Golf MK 4)

Theres a grommet under the wiper tray thats just, just big enough to get 4 gauge through.

Have people enlarged this hole, or drilled another?

Or is there simpler way I've not yet found?

Cheers,

if the MK4 is like the A3 there is a grommet you can use behind the glove box that runs round the back of the engine,

Hi thanks, have looked at that one it's just too small to get a 0 gauge cable through.

Cheers Matt, but believe that it is also too small for 0 gauge to pass through...

Any more ideas please....

You could get a bus through there !!

As long as its been pre stabbed with a knife to cut the gromet, run a pre wire of average size 1st through the hole, then over lay the 0 gauge and the pull wire along side each other about 30cm then bind together with insulation tape very tightly. A guick spry with WD40 on the taped section and pull away from the engine bay and she will slide through easy job ! 169144-ok.gif

I ran 4 gauge in my R32 through that grommet and it would easily have taken 2 if not 3 runs through the same hole

cheers

Matt
