Stevied123
I have something to share.. I am very ashamed that I prefer the new Focus to the old one. Is anyone else with me on this? I think it's cleaner, neater and has a nice "smile" on the front, and I think the old one is a hideous, contrived piece of nonsense. Discuss. malagus
neither are design tour-de-forces, and i must say id rather have a leon than the focus. but, out of the two, the new one is better
NewNiceMrMe
Firstly, welcome to TSN. Secondly, I think the old one was much more striking on first release - by an astronomical unit. The new one is awful looking, in my opinion and looks absolutely nothing like the teaser pics that Ford themselves released ages ago. They shot themselves in the foot in my opinion. Discussed. Spell it differently and you get a summary of it too.
scooby_simon
Stevie, Firstly, Welcome to Tyresmoke, hope you love it. Secondly, what do you drive yourself (assuming yo do drive) Finally, Not a great Ford fan (except the GT40 ), but is it simple a looks thing, or have you driven them both ? Stevied123
I feel I MAY be opening a can of worms... I drive a Skoda Superb. Yes, I love cars, yes I like driving fast... BUT, I have had a bad foot injury in the last year and because I work for VW Group we can get a comfortable, fastish and serene saloon for 100 quid a month! Liked the Focus anagram by the way! I suppose looks are a subjective thing... but it's an interesting discussion!

malagus
i saw one focus that had an o and an f placed as the last two letters instead of the normal ones my reaction "how childish" (bear in mind my age.)

NewNiceMrMe
I'be seen something similar. It had the Focus badge, but in the same lettering beneath it was also the word Black - on a black car. It was a bit like, err, state the obvious. malagus
that was a special "black" limited edition though. another ford brainwave.

shao_khan
Welcome to TSN. I do agree with you about the focus, new one is far nicer. Also hate people that work for VW group as I know what my brother pays for cars (he works there as well) and it makes me sick, jammy sobs.
Stevied123
Don't hate us, there are very few other perks here!!! Where does your bro work? I work at Bentley in Crewe.
ChrisR32
Just up the road from me then Stevie!! There aren't many members in the Stoke/Crewe area - i know this as i've never been spotted once!!
cruiser647
I like to think (and will do my best) NOT to do 3 (non-serious) things in my life. 1 - Own a Ford (yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk) 2 - Shop at Tesco's (always seem dark and dingy in the shops, and last time smelt of stale milk) 3 - Eat at McDonalds (see number 1) So defo Ford Focus shame - no matter how hot they make it or how good the ads, or how cheap they are, it is still a Ford (Fix Or Repair Daily). Just MHO!!! So don't even think about it.

NewNiceMrMe
Cruiser - subscribe to the Tesco offer of the day e-mail via their website. You'll change your mind. They often run offers that run from 4pm to 7pm on the day they send the e-mail and they usually only give a few hours notice. Two weeks ago we got 3x6 bottles of wine that should have been £59.98 per case (and had been for over 2 months) for £28 per case. The offer was running for 2 hours - after which (and we checked the next day!) they were back up at normal price. They are masters at getting footfall into their shops and have a known strategy of making silly offers to do so. If you go in and just buy what you went for - you can't lose. Stevied123
From Focii/Focuses to Tesco! I like this site... : ) Whereabouts in Stoke are you?, R32 man? I am in Nantwich, where apparently we all drive 4 wheel drives, or so my ex-colleagues at Phones 4 U used to tell me... what with Cheshire being an outpost of Chelsea or so they thought... I wish! ChrisR32
Now that is spooky, your ex-colleagues may well be my colleages at the moment!! I've worked for Phone4u for three years now!! I'm originally from the Congleton area but have since moved to the other side of the city!
