IanHo
You would know if you got Xenon's as the light output is far greater 3+x than Halogens. When you turn them on they come on in 2 stages, and will self level (most of the time). Also if you have Xenon's you will have the Headlamp washer system, although you could buy this as an option on the Halogens. You can buy Xenon (HID) upgrade kits 300+ quid. This is so expensive because of the bulbs and the high voltage kit required to start the bulbs. The Audi factory fit ones are £750. Don't know much about the B5 or if Xenon's were available as an option. You will find loads of info on here about upgrading your standard bulbs. Current most popular are Osram or Philips which provide +50% light output over standard Halogens, these are filled with Xenon gas, but are not true Xenons. IanHo
Good choice, blue ones are for Chav's! Try www.powerbulbs.co.uk, you get a 10% TSN discount and free sidelights, they do the Philips BlueVision (they are white though not blue) and Osram SilverStars rated just slightly better than the Philips.
