Mouldy Top

Any of you guys have problems with mould? I live down in Torbay and the weather tends to be a bit on the wet side. No garage cause I live on a farm ---> Bumpkin@!

I received a car cover for the TT roadster from the missus at christmas, and the other day, having washed the car, put the cover on for about 1 week. Took the cover off to find a bit of mould along the soft-top just at the border with the body of the car. This is where the water tends to collect during a wash. I took the top off, drove around for a bit (because I was too busy to wash the car), and the mould disappeared. I guess it's because it's damp and humid?

any ideas guys? notworthy.gif

If the car is kept outdoors then keep the cover off.

Sorry, shame not to use it and all, but its stopping the water from evaporating quickly and stopping airflow over the car.

Covers should be ok in a garage but not outside. Also, the wind rattling the cover will eventually chafe the paint where the cover goes over it.

If it is in a garage then make certain the car is dry before putting the cover over, and maybe place a dehumidifier in the garage.

Hope that helps. 169144-ok.gif
