Hammer2003
I've noticed recently that when I'm parking my A6, I sometimes get a short screech coming from the rear brakes when braking at slow speed in reverse. Would this indicate that the brake pads need replacement? At the last service the rears were down to about 3mm, the fronts 4mm. Is this about the time to get them renewed? I've probably done another 2000 miles since then. Anyone know how much this should cost? Is this a job best done by an Audi dealer, or could I trust a fast fit centre to do the job, at hopefully a cheaper price? Thanks
johnny11
I got my A6 2.7T done by an none audi garage but i do know the owner and there work is second to none. i had the rear discs and pads replaced altogether come to just under £150 but i do not know how much Audi charge for this
grahamb
Sounds like you need some coppa slip on the rears. I had my rear brake disks changed at 77K, when I pointed out to the dealer I was buying the car from that they were cracked. And it came with 12Months MOT, so that was a thorough test then wasn't it ?
