Colin M
Driving round the M25 back from gf's at 6am the other morning, I had just gone over the QE bridge and a light came on the dash. I tend not to keep all the manuals so didn't know what the light did (couldn't remember). It was orange with an exclamation and a ring with anticlockwise arrow around it. As it wasn't red, I carried on round the M25 but it was bothering me so pulled into Clackett Lane services and called Audi Assist. "It's the ESP" the girl said. "Would you like us to come out or contact your local dealer" she asked. Curious, I pushed the ESP button and the light went out. "No need" I said, "I'll ring them when I get home". It's then I realised that getting my coin out of the little pop out tray for the Thames crossing, I'd pushed the ESP button at the same time as closing the tray. Oops. So that's what the ESP light looks like. Now I remembered when it used to flash in the S3!

Colin M
No problem with the plane, got that sussed, plus it tells you in plain English Fire - Engine Number or even flashes up Pilot Alert if we don't touch something for 20 mins to check we are awake! Audi's hieroglyphics are something else though. Reminds me when I had a customer call me worried about a symbol that lit up. She was on the hard shoulder and said "it looks like an orange volcano with lava pouring out the top". Her washer bottle needed filling.
IanHo
That's OK then , have you thought about retrofitting the same system to your Audi?

Colin M
Why don't you keep manuals? I do, they are at home. I never leave the folder with the service book (primarily) in the car for security reasons. Must sit down and read them when I get 5 mins!
