Autoglym Hydrablade

I bought one of these some time ago but until replying to another thread on here yesterday I'd forgotten I had it.

So, today I used it.

Jesus! It frightened the life out of me! The noise it makes on the car is awful!

Furthermore, it is utterly useless on anything other than a long smooth stretch of car. It says it moulds to smaller more difficult areas - does it hell!

Worked well on the glass but I really think they need to look at making the whole section you hold into rubber - because its a nasty hard plastic that is too easy to knock against the car why trying to get into awkward places around even the glass.

In the end I used it for getting large amounts of water off the windscreen, bonnet, boot and upper sections of doors - but after that the leather came out to finish it off properly and do the other sections.

Overall it probably made the process faster, but the noise concerns me and I'm not sure I'll use it again. Whilst I couldn't see any marks I could swear it was doing its damn best to scratch the car!

Anyway, I've just ordered a Meguiars Cleaning Towel online to try one of those out.

I swear by my Autoglym Synthetic Chamois.

It just shifts the water fast, and adds a final clean to the car in the process. Works very well provided the car is well waxed.

I used to swear by this as well. Try a Meguirs microfibre drying cloth.

I use the blade first and then this. It's twice as good as the Autoglym synthetic chamois IMHO.
