Just a quick question, i'm in the middle of trying to decide between buying a Focus RS, or Leon Cupra R. I wouldn't do any major modding work so i guess i'd be lookin at a Focus RS with Bluefin around 240BHP? and the Cupra R with Revo making that a BHP of around 270.

The general thought is everyone chooses RS, on paper though the Cupra R seems a better car. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'd go for the RS too 'cos I personally think they look good.

Not sure too many on TSN will agree with me-last time I said they look good most posts said it was a chavs car! Saw one yesterday though and still stand by my original opinion.

As Loddrik said though,Cooper S is so good looking and so cool to drive that it would be the choice! 169144-ok.gif

grin.gif Cupra R everytime, fantastic car, goes like stink - even more so after the Revo treatment, VAG build quality as Ari says, loads of toys, non-sag leather seats! excellent soundsystem, probably lower insurance, smarter image than the RS 169144-ok.gif

I had a Leon Cupra, not the R, as a company car before I got the R32 - 70k miles in 3 years - top fun !

Jeez i wasn't expecting that sort of response! Thanks guys. The car would be for everyday use, which i guess means i should go for the Cupra, it's just hard to ignore the RS's reviews. I like the Cupra as some of you said, it's not so in ya face, little more subtle. I've considered quit a few other cars, for a long while i was set on a Porsche Boxster with a view to puttin the Aerokit II on them, i think they look great like that, then i went onto looking at S2000's etc. Totally different car's i admit, and slightly more expensive, couple that with the fact i'll probably only keep the car for 3 years, the insurance was really putting me off. It seems crazy i get quoted £700 for a RS Focus and £2600 for a Boxster 2.7 shocked.gif

The RS handles like a b!tch. Topgear slated it for handling and as Ari says, torque steer is awful and it's too jittery on the road.

Take them both out - I think that's important as your drive style will differ to anyone elses and you need to be happy in the car, not us!

The RS seems a bit Chav-like to me, or perhaps that's just Ford's in general now thanks to the escort/supped up Fiesta lot.

Go for the Cupra R - its a smashing car and looks better than the Focus IMO.

I nearly bought one last month - and it was nothing to do with the car that made me cancel.

I have always loved the Cupra R, and its up there still, if I can't afford an R32 in the summer.

Cupra R, Cupra R, Cupra R
