UBM
I'm convinced mine does not work - even though it is set to 5. I have a Symphony 6CD. Any thoughts?
bearra
I don't get it DM, it's very noticeable on my old Merc. If I'm honest though I found it annoying so I'm not that fussed.
DHA
In 3 audis i have never seen it work. The BMW system works very well, but thats not a reason to buy another one
flex_won
Hey DM, me too. I also have the Symphony with 6 CD. I'm always having to adjust the volume manually. I had a Megane before the A4 Cab and it it worked perfectly in the Renault. I noticed though that if you adjust the GALA setting when you're travelling (got the wife to do it when I was driving) the volume goes up and down with the GALA setting. The changes were noticeable but I don't think the volume increased are high enough a rate for the increases in cabin noise with speed, even with the roof up. UBM
I'll try it tomorrow (manual adjustment).
Waylander
i also have a symphony system but dont have a clue what you're talking about - enlightenment please?!
UBM
GALA automatically adjusts the volume of the stereo depnding on road noise and of course road noise usually depends on speed - well, when it works!
Sparky
I had this in the Bora, worked okay. Had mine set to 9 to prove it worked though - didn't see much happening at level 5.

Chav
if you hold the menu key, you get to see all the settings that you can then scroll through, like phone left/right, timer 1/2 on/off and gala. alternatively, RTFM
Waylander
whoa i just found them - what the hell do they all mean: timer 1 and 2 for what? what does radio/nav -6 mean? i assume the phone one is if you have the car-kit installed
UBM
[ QUOTE ] whoa i just found them - what the hell do they all mean: timer 1 and 2 for what? what does radio/nav -6 mean? i assume the phone one is if you have the car-kit installed [/ QUOTE ] Timer 1 and 2 are for the TA recordings, you can set them to record traffic alerts between two time periods, i.e. before you go to work and before you leave work - useful eh! Radio/Nav is for the balance between the SatNav and radio volumes (you need satnav of course); GALA is the automatic noise compensation, but it still don't seem to work......
