Sinfield
Jerez de la Frontera, Saturday - about tea time. Just weeks after the much anticipated launch of the BAR 007, the Brackley teams technical chiefs have had to concede that the car is a complete dog, an even bigger woofer than Scooby Doo 2 – Monsters Unleashed. After intensive testing it seems that the 007 has a severe aero problem. Matters were brought to a head at Jerez today, when a truck brought in by Michelin to water the track, was considerably faster than the BAR, even though an understeer problem forced the beast into the gravel trap at turn two. Said BAR’s senior race engineer, Andrew Shovlin, ‘ While it was plain that the 007 was a bit of a dissapointment, we were pretty amazed to see that Michelins water truck was quicker, if we can just dial out the understeer problem it has then we’ll have a race car that even Takuma Sato can’t wreck’. The 007B (above) features the six wheel approach last used to great effect by Tyrell, whose P34 famously won the 1976 Swedish Grand Prix.
