wsurfa
Recently bought a late 97 S8 - absolute giggle, who would of thought a tank would shift that quickly (certainly not a large selction of chavs ). It has recently developed an intermittent whining noise which could be the power sterring pump - I'd appreciate any help in identifying exactly what it is. The sound rises when on full lock and also to some extent with increased revs, it first came after some spirited cornering. It is intermittment and will often go away if the car has been parked up engine off for a few minutes. I don't have any clunky transmission noises or fan belt type squeals. If anyone has an idea what it might be please let me know. Thanks a lot Iain
A8_Tony
Hi Iain, and welcome to TSN. I have no idea on the whining noise, but it may well be worth checking the tension on the belt. What's the mileage? Got any pics?? C'mon chap, get 'em up, so we can all see 'em
