felixthecat1
Well chaps I did it, I collected my new car on Saturday. I just wanted to post this to let all the people who gave advice know that it's all over, I've finally bought something and the Passat is a thing of the past. Of course this means there's no Forum left for me but I think I'll cope. Just in case you're intrested, here's the spec: S60 2.0T with heated leather, dual climate, 17's alloys, sports suspension, Dolby 9 speaker stereo with in dash changer, electric everything and a 180bhp stock V5 light pressure turbo. I'll post some pics when I get a chance. Once again thanks for all the help and advice. Here's looking forward to the next meet.
Mollox
Well, we could think about a 'Safety Forum' for you Well done on going for it Did you sneak that on the budget we were talking about?
JamesB
Congratulations, Tian. I obviously missed something - I thought the Swede reference meant you were still intending to head down the Saab route. I thought about getting an S60R before I bought my S4 but was put off by the truly lamentable standard of the sales staff at my local dealer, who knew less than I did about the car. Will you be bringing it to the Windsor meet next week? What colour? How many miles? And, if you don't mind saying, how much? Post us a nice review and don't worry about the lack of forum - I struggle to find partners in crime for my car so just end up dwelling on past memories and haunting the A4 forum every once in a while. JamesB
That won't be necessary until I shift my old feckin' house. Three months on the market and a few timewasters, I'm beginning to get downhearted. And I don't live on estate.
felixthecat1
[ QUOTE ] We could have an estates and house-moving forum too you know [/ QUOTE ] Leave it. It did come in on budget, in fact well below. It was strange as it was love at first sight. I had gone to view a Saab and only noticed it by chance. It's cracking on a bit at 64,000 miles but it's in such good condition, you have to see it. the Saabs tend to fall apart but this is still tight and unmarked, must have been a TSN'er. Paintwork on a car of this age with no swirls, leather that hasn't sagged, a dash with no scratches and a HPI check from Booster. I'm happy. Oh, the colour's Teal and it only cost me £7.5K. I'm gonna be there next week, wife, work and bad back permitting.
JamesB
Sounds great. But what exactly is Teal?
Mollox
Blimey! Well done! Does it shift? Is it the LPT engine? I think the whole team live for the day when small ads carry the words "FSH, TSN car, must see" Do my eyes deceive me though and did you just say you've fallen in love with a volvo? Someone call a doctor And well done for opening up a whole new line of banter, to be honest I was getting bored with M3s...
