Waylander
so what tyre pressures do you chaps normally run on [on the standard tyres i mean]: 33, 39 or something in between [and if so what/why]? cheers
Chav
on 18"s i run 36 front and 34 back. I tested higher and lower pressures.... more than 37 at the front and the inner part wears quicker than the outer, so 36 seems about right. same test for the rears. and rears should usually be a lower pressure as less weight and no power steering. but my pressures on the cab, which are 200kg's heavier 39 will be too high for your TDI though
Waylander
39 is the recommended pressure for a loaded car
Chav
do you have 3/4 passengers and a full boot all the time then? you need to check the wear isnt just at the centre of your tread otherwise they'll wear out prematurely. the recommended pressure for mine (on the A-pillar) is 42. thats way too high for everyday use, the tyres would be dead after 10K miles. Waylander
no. mostly just me; last time i went to london with wifey kids in the car i put in 35 and it felt fine going to glsgow tomorrow morning with just me/mate so figured i'd get a handle on differential pressures

UBM
Yep, 34/34 on my 18's I believe....or is it - I'll just check...no!. It's 36/36 for the 18's!
Scotty
39/39 is recommended for mine....unloaded.
CactusGreen
I'm running 36/34 - after a long chat with a guy at Pirelli and what they reccommend for the particular tyre. For me very even wear - 23K from the PZERO Nero's on the front and almost 42K from the P6000's on the rear!
