benpalmer
Hi all - had my R32 for about 2000 miles now, and getting a bit worried about a continual drift to the left - not huge, but definitely noticeable if you take your hands off the wheel for a second or two. I had a 1.8t GTI before this, and it never did it (though I've heard that this is a common "feature" with MkIVs). Should I be worried? Any help much appreciated! JAYDR32
Hi mate, i have had this problem before on other cars i have had, i think it is prob the tracking and you need the wheels re-balanced as any unbalance will cause this... kwik-fit and most garages offer this service and its not expensive.. hope you get it sorted
mooret
Does this happen on all roads? If not it could be to do with the road. Most roads are crowned, that is to say they are higher in the middle than they are at the side, in order to help drainage. this means that your car could want to pull to the left. Saying all that I've never noticed the problem with my R. Might also want to check your tyre pressures with a good pressure guage, not relying on the rubbish ones fitted to the machines at garages. ubbs
had this problem on my previous s3, told by audi tech "find an empty road drive on opp. side and see if pulls the other way" it did.

mb
I'd take it to AMD if you are near Oxford, their wheel alignment kit is really sophisticated and will get it straighter than it left the factory. In fact despite mine driving straight they are aligning it next week to get totally spot on Cheers Martin
odnet
[ QUOTE ] cheers guys - will find an empty stretch of road and see what happens. [/ QUOTE ] my r used to pull terribly to the left, but like mentioned previously, if you drive on the wrong side of the road, it did exactly the same, but to the right! fat tyres maybe?? ivan
