SneakyMcC
Schitt! Sorry to hear that Is your uncle cool with aluminum? Fenn on this site had his car written off by his insurers cause they couldn't find anyone with the expertise to repair his, it only sounded minor too
cruiser647
ooooooooohhhhhhh, bad luck and bad news chap! Best thing, might be to try ebay.de and ebay.co.uk as well as ebay.com Also there isn't there an Audi Connection place or something over in the US? Good luck in finding the bits! If you want part numbers, just ask us all. (although the part numbers might be different in the US)

Ska
Sorry to hear of your misfortune But your right about the strength of these aluminum beasts. My car was hit by an old girl after 2 weeks of ownership. The front fender and bumper were dented about a foot in diameter but the other car(ford escort) was a right off. fenn
I'm amazed the insurers only reckon £5,600 to repair it-they said it would be at least 11-12,00 for mine, which is why they wrote it off-the damage seemed quite slight, in that the only body damage was where the suspension strut had gone up in to the top of the wing-it hadn't even broken the wheel or burst the tyre!-make doubly sure the ins co. know what they're talking about-you don't want to have it fixed and find you've a problem when you come to sell it on Don't mean to sound like a harbinger of doom,-just don't want a fellow A8 enthusiast to get shafted. I never could find out what happened to mine in the end, so I'm sure it got moved on to a less reputable repairer and fixed and sold on, because the car was in terrific condition overall-I've still got the chassis no. and reg details in case anyone is suspicious of a 1998 S8 they're interested in.
