Hi RonaldS8,

The car at the top of your picture has Zenon Plus headlights. The zenon beam (outer part of lights) is moved upwards with a solonoid when you switch to main beam. Additionally, the larger of the circular reflectors (centre of your circle) houses a long range conventional halogen beam which illuminates on main beam.

The car at the bottom of your picture has conventional zenon headlights. The zenon beam stays put and the inner main beams illuminate when main beam is selected.

The plus package is better yes.

In summary:

Zenon Plus Dip Beam = Zenon beam angled downwards

Zenon Plus Main Beam = Zenon beam angled upwards plus long range halogen

Std Zenon Dip Beam = Fixed zenon beam

Std Zenon Main Beam = Fixed zenon beam plus medium range halogen.

I've owned both types and the Zenon Plus is noticeably better - the main beam gives a very even spread and the distance penetration of the halogen beams is superb.

Great for making the point to foglight chavs also...
