My drivers seat leg cushion support is a bit broken up by all the entering/exiting the car by the previous owner. The leather is ok but the padding is starting to go and it is making the interior look a lot older/used than it is.Does anybody know a specialist who can repair this for me.I live in the north east of england but would travel a little bit to get the work done properly. There isnt a trim shop near me i dont think.I dont want Audi to do it they will charge a bomb im sure.

What do you mean? That the leather has creases in it now? If so, that's actually just the dye wearing off the seats, you could easily redye the seats and remove 90% of them.

You strip the seats with paint thinner, removing the dirt and contaminates and some of the dye. Use 600 grit sand paper on anything that is still raised. Then re dye with the same color and you'll find that the creases will go away.

We'll see how good it works, but right now my grey sport seats are being dyed to Ecru....should have them back in a week.

Do a google search for "automotive leather" or "automotive dye" and you'll find a lot of info out there.

No although there are cracks which i will attend to with a rejuvinator oil i mean the actual padding in the right side cushion on the drivers seat base where your right leg rests. The last owner must have been a lazy s*d and roll out of the car hence the cushion is now battered a bit.Its not totally gone but the rest of the interior is very nice so i wondered if i can get this fixed as a single item rather than get a new seat ?

I've had this before, a good upholsterer will be able to peel back your leather covering, remove the old collapsed foam bolster and rebuild it with new shaped foam, then replace your leather cover and voila.... probably cost you about £80.

Out of interest, is yours a sport with bucket type seats?, 2 of my previos Audi's suffered this, but the current A8 is unmarked,I wonder if this is down to having much flatter side bolsters, so fat ba***rd previous owners tend not to crush them as the weight is spread over the whole seat!!

carlos there is an auto trimmers in Dormanstown near Redcar in Cleveland I can recommend. He did various motorcycle seats and car seats for me in fabric, vinyl & leather the last job i had done was an A4 gear stick gaiter in leather and he only charged 20 quid. He's in the yellow pages If my memory serves me right it AutoTrimmers??? 169144-ok.gif

I had the side bolster on my recaro done by MJ Inteiors, don't have the number for them here but if you buy VW Driver you'll get his number in the back of it. He got a bolster from Audi, think it was £75(it's heated) and broke down the seat and rebuilt it for £40. Took about 2 hours, when he was putting in the bolster he put some leather in side it where the bar of the seat sits inside it so as the bar wouldn't wear through it as quickly as I am a fat bastard smirk.gif The job was as good as your going to get anywhere. He has also done a few compleat retrims for me on other cars and I could not fault his work.
