loddrik
When I went up to finalise details of Boxster purchase, the owner was tring to park a testarossa they had in, the car had been loaned to Coronation St so it should appear in an episode soon. Anyway, they asked me to park it. Christ, I am a pretty big, strong lad, but the steering (non assisted) at low speeds was incredibly heavy, you needed to put your whole body behind it. That V12 sounded amazing and the dogleg 1st gear was strange indeed. This exact car

N3WOB
The sun's shining on you at the moment - that it one of my favourite cars! Looks mint - marked up at £35k?
JamesB
I hope you 'Don'ned your pink suit, white t-shirt and Gucci loafers in honour of the occasion. The Testarossa has to be the ultimate dream from my boyhood. The styling looks a little dated now IMO but then I guess it's not surprising considering how long ago it was launched. Still, I hardly think I'd say no if offered one. I had the opportunity to take a 360 Spider for a very short outing last year. Now that was fun. And did you pick up the Boxster or was it just paperwork?

Luke
Lodders, is a 512 a Testarossa? I thought it was a replacement for the Testarossa, I think they changed it in the early '90s.

[/ QUOTE ] It was the replacement but was badged 512TR.I personally think the later car that's in the pics is much nicer,at least the wheels look almost the right size whereas I remember the early cars having those small starfish look rims that were disgusting.Shocked it didn't have power steering in 94 though, just shows Ferrari buyers have completely different priorities. Or did they come as stardard on the TR? Edit Well I will get my coat. Quick google shows clearly different. 512 TR vs 355 GTS Ian C
Ari
I thought the 512TR had fixed lights, not pop up ones as in the photos above...

sayerbloke
IMHO, the 512tr has to be in contention for the best looking Ferrari ever made. It is, in fact, one of my favourite car designs... ever.
activa
[ QUOTE ] Only on the later 512M [/ QUOTE ] Does anyone else think that this version of the TR looks like a kit car that's come straight from the Ferrari parts bin? Erm,we've got a few bodyshells left, anyone got some lamps we can use! Oh and what about those crap rims over in the corner, yep,we'll 'ave them too! Its in a nice faded pink colour, with alot of ferrari rust and smoke from the exhaust. Still the key ring looks good on the bar!

[/ QUOTE ] Just an educated guess but compliments are nice! They must be pretty cheap nowadays 'cos I can't imagine why anyone would want one. That really is just an excuse to have the Prancing Horse on your drive.(along with the RAC truck of course ) Slow as s**t,built like a paper plane and about as much charisma as...... a Mitsubishi Charisma!!! And they're the good points!
CARACTERE 007
wow, the iconic red head, in my eyes the start of supercar design at pinninfarina....plus a hairy chest wig.
Ari
The Ferrari 400i was a fabulous car, one of the first high performance 4 seater GT cars, just the thing for blasting across Europe with three lovely lovlies. V12 engine, auto transmission, serious performance (in its day), Ferrari soundtrack and Pininfarina looks. Perfect.
Luke
Surely Ferraris should only be 2 seaters.
Ari
No I don't think so, Ferrari have almost always had a 4 seater high performance GT car, the 456, the current 612 etc.
Luke
fair point, there's something quirky about the 612, its actually rather nice
