Lordy know her 1.1 engine needs it ANyone on here used it and if so how did you find it?
CARACTERE 007
made no difference at all in the 1.6!..used it for 6 months.....so ive gone back to the firendly texaco place
Riz
I think it only works best with cars which recommend Super Unleaded RON fuel, i.e. S4`s, S3`s and RS4`s etc. Dont think it`ll make much difference except for giving the engine a good clean out after a few tanks. Just use the standard 95 RON fuel and use Optimax now and again to keep the engine clean.
Paul
made a difference on my old V6 with performance/fuel economy , so i decideded to only use Optimax when i changed to the S3. Not had anything else.
Mo-S3
I used to use OPtimax every now and again but since getting it REVO'D i use it all the time and it sure does make a difference. Its not a psycological thing about optimax it does work and my grin proves it when i floor that pedal !!
James_dj
the biggest thing with Optimax and turbo cars is it wards of detonation better than lower RON fuels. because of its octane content.
PreacherCain
I love it. Platonically, of course... I started using it when it came out, and found (on motorway cruises especially) it gave me on average 2-ish mpg more than ordinary UL, and had the bonus of being cheaper than SUL. Now I've been revo'd I use it exclusively, precisely because of the higher octane content - I'm running higher boost and want to avoid any det at all, if possible. I'm not sure if it makes the car go any faster, but I'm guessing that it allows the ECU (standard or chipped) to maintain a more aggressive timing profile throughout the rev range... snez22
it is very very good. you can feel the difference for sure. especially after chipping. 83.9 freakin pence a litre though. it was 81.9 last week. bloody hell!!

Drillslinger
Dude, I've never BEEN over there But looking at those gas prices.... I think the trip to Revo alone would be about the price of the chip When y'all said you got dicked, you really meant it.
AngelEyesUK
I use optimax in mine and it seems to work a treat, does come across as a bit more responsive

A3Floyd
I used to use it all the time and it does improve the performance and economy slightly but just lately i've been getting my go-go juice from tescos cos it's so p*ss-cheap! especially when you get the 4p per litre off vouchers! Rich
There is no Shell garage that sells Optimax near me Are there any alternatives, from the likes of BP, the super markets?? I want to see how much, if any, difference it makes as mine has always ran on normal Unleaded to date.
snez22
i've found that when i use 'normal' unleaded, the fuel doesn't last as long. even though i should be getting more because it is cheaper. weird!
