ouch, thats cold! It is an S Line A3 3.2. Nothing worse than sticking a badge on something that dresses it up as something it isn't. I have seen pics of S lines with the badge on the steering wheel but the one I'm picking up on saturday doesn't have it. Its a '54 plate with full S line kit. Is it stitched into the steering wheel then or can I get a small one for the base of the wheel?

hey wes is it an S-line or are you trying to make it look like one cus it should already have one on the bottom of the steering wheel

early ones didnt have the s-line badging. the steering wheel badge was then a luck of the draw for a few weeks until the spec seemed to standardise.

With the A4, I think the marketing department called it the "s-line" after the 190sport versions had started to leave the factory, so could be the same here.

did you get the spoiler put on cus I know that the stealers were putting them on the early cars FOC

I did consider it but in the end I preferred it without...I kind of like it as it is.

With regards the s-line badge on the steering wheel, is there not a little depression pressed into the leather where the badge sits? Just thought I'd mention it as I can't imagine retrospectively fitting a badge onto the leather?

It was only a speculative question about the badge on the steering wheel. We need to wait till someone who has the badge as standard replies to confirm whether there is a depressed space pressed into the leather for it or not?? The pictures in the gallery didn't really show it in enough detail.

Any how...you'll love the car regardless! smile.gif

There is indeed a depressed space in the leather for the badge, as it is flush with the rest of the steering wheel.

Seems unlucky that the '54 plate doesn't have one. Mine is an '04 plate from June '04 and I think they were pretty much standard by then.

Nice touch though, so if you can fit one retrospectively, I'd definately give it a go!

I also got the S Line grill badge for mine, another nice touch I think. Just be aware you will need a fancy star screw driver to loosen the grill, but then clipping the badge to it is real easy.

Enjoy the car, I know you will!

yep spot on gremlin sat in my Sline today and indeed the little S-line badge on the steering wheel looks superb although the steering wheel has the indent to take the badge for what it`s worth if I had one of the earlier cars without I would go out and buy the damn thing and stick it on the wheel just for the pleasure of seeing it every time I got into the car
