joe1978
hello folks, not being able to afford a RS4 in my wildest dreams I was hoping some of you may be able to answer a query for me. I had a TTR150 for a wee while and frequented the TT forum and I was very aware of the tuning potential of the 1.8T engine. However I am now a proud owner of a B6 A4 2.5 V6 Tdi Quattro Sport (breathe) and was wondering if this engine can be tweaked? If so, the power that may be available if it can and who can do it?? not much to ask for a newbie on this forum eh? cheers joe ps RS4licious mmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhh
Chav
Hiya, Yes you can tune TDI engines easily. Theres plenty of companies selling diesel tuning boxes. For the 2.5V6 you're looking at an extra 30BHP at least from a simple addon box. These typically remap digital data sent between the fuel-pump and ECU, to increase fuelling and give extra performance, and sometimes better mpg too. A few of the diesel chaps on here will be able to recommend better than me, but a quick google gives http://www.dieselchiptuning.com for one. UBM
I've tried a cheap tuning box (analogue) which was great, but eventually a sporadic fuel temp sender signal registered on the EMS. I now expect to either try a digital tuning box or go for a full remap at RevoTechnik in Surrey. I may try the digitial box first as it is half the price of the revo remap....although the revo remap increases from 130 to 180 BHP!
Sparky
Revo puts a lot of power down early and aggressively from what I've heard. Try AMD as they have a more smoother power delivery, although prices are from £550!!!
UBM
Yeah I think AMD are out of my price range!
Sparky
What sort of prices are Revo asking? I liked the OneClick option from AMD as they don't leave any traceable code when you remove it (e.g. Servicing). But £550 is a little OTT me thinks. I've heard Jabbasport is also very good. Sparky
Just had a look online at www.RevoTechnik.com - they are wanting £499 for the PD130 engine remap.

Durrsaku
I am waiting on you mate reporting on this digital box (of course when you get one) otherwise i am saving for the Oettinger remap. I am kind of convinced it will better for my car.
UBM
Agreed a re-map is really better for the car and you don't have the hassle of removing it if you need to call Audi assist or book it into the strealers. Still debating whether to get the 500 notes re-map.....
UBM
Nothing wrong with the analogue box - just think I had a dodgy connection and eventually the car threw a wobbler...
