Airbag Warning Light

Got the car back from the dealer Friday as they had 'replaced the A & B pillars due to rattles'

Found that they had also replaced the driver door speaker grille with a non-bose one (they say they will order the correct one and replace it when they get it in!)

Drove off, and the rattle were not cured at all, they are just as bad as ever, what is more, the airbag warnin light has come on! The dealer says that they had nothing to do with the airbag (I cannot argue as I know nothing about such things and am hesitant to accuse without proof).

Anyway, the car is going back in tomorrow for the airbag problem, and hopefully the rattles, the speaker grille is no in yet so that will have to be booked in separately.

What do you guys think about this...am I just unlucky?

Nothing to do with luck. Its down to poor workmanship/management at the dealer.

If the rattles are still there, then they didnt test it...which is patronising to say the least if not simply plain insulting.

Tell them to sort it, or provide one that works...eg a new car.

Log it with Audi CS. They'll send a tech out to look at it and get you another car. Even if you're happy with booking it tomorrow it all needs to be put though CS so it is all logged against your VIN.

An air bag light should be a vehicle off road fault - I argued this point with Land Rover when I had the same problem. Eventually they saw my point of view.

...they disturbed the connector under the seat ?? ...

Yup lay money on it, seen this several times with A3s and my A4. Most likely they were moving seats and stuff about and have knocked the connection.

They can reset the computer and this might sort it, if it doesnt, then look at the wires under the seats as this is most likly to be where the issue is.

Seems like a desing fault to have loose wires under the seat. My dealer said not to move the seat when the engine was running.

Poor quality I think.
