DHA
Getting really pi@@ed off now, trying to set up a wireless network. The help only tells me how to setup internet sharing via my laptop and not how to connect another mac to the network to enable it. Frodo
Okay we are here to help. What are you trying to do? Have you got a ADSL / Cable router or does your laptop / PC connect to a "modem"?
DHA
Yep, ADSL modem connected via USB to laptop then wirelessly via airport. New iMac has airport and can see the network however once internet sharing is turned on via my laptop nothing happens on the iMac. Hopefully a router should arrive today to hopefully solve this problem as I will then be able to use PPPoE.
CarMad
Mmmm Easiest way of setting up sharing wirelessly is to get an ADSL wireless router all in one. Its a doddle then for all devices. I have a Netgear 834g that I can highly recommend. What have you ordered ?
DHA
Thats what I have on the way. I was sent a Speedtouch 300 which only has a USB connector and therefore cannot be used wirelessly. However I havent got the wireless netgear just the basic router as I have an Apple Airport to allow printer and iTunes sharing in the house. CarMad
Cool. Should work fine. Set up the router connection configs for you ISP. Set the clients to DHCP plug it in and enjoy. Not much more to it than that.
DHA
I hope its that easy!
Frodo
Easiest way is to start with no security, but then make sure you turn it on WPA preferable but WEP if not, then turn on MAC address filtering and turn off SSID Broadcasting. Good luck.

Frodo
Must confess I haven't had any problems with my Netgear stuff now for months. Was a bit tempremental to start with but the later firmware seems to have cured that. I have a router, and two wireless access points in repeater mode. DHA
Still working! Both macs were asleep whilst we were at work. Came home beer in hand and they both were ready to rock. Cool!
