colinc
Just a personal opinion but it seems pretty pointless to remove the badges, it seems to be an old fashioned thing that the rep brigade did to hide the fact that their BM was only a 316i. But perhaps I am showing old age here!!
Ari
Think it looks much "cleaner" debadged. Why do you need following motorists to know the exact model number and engine capacity? I've got the four rings on the boot and thats it. It's an Audi Cabrio, what else do you need to know?
CabGirl
They look good without but UBM's looks a bit more bling with them on.
Phantom
Umm, a sensitive subject ! I use to debadge my 316 Coupes, externally, excluding exhaust tips, they looked like every other model up to a 325. If you are paying good money for a car I would prefer to show that , if you took the badges off it could either look like a 1.8T or at a stretch a debadged S4, especially as you have the chrome mirrors To be honest I have seen more de-badged TDis than any other variant of cab. Audi seem to be making these more difficult to spot on the B7 tin tops as the exhaust tips are not as down turned, right I will grab my anorak In short, I would leave them on there
UBM
Cheers - less work for me then! On they stay!
Chav
I have to admit, if i see a debaged cab i think "1.8T". I put my badges on a few weeks ago. Still cant decide what looks best though. I think when spotlessly clean, debadged looks best, especially on a black car. Its a bastard to clean in between the letters with them on though... May take them off again soon
Phantom
You mean to say that a tooth brush is not part of your essential car cleaning kit, essential for a black cab I would have thought
Chav
I need more than a toothbrush I'll explain in a new thread so as not to hijack this one.
lottiefox
Am only a relative A4 novice but from the newbie perspective I'd say leave them on too
brownswood
i prefer debadged cars mine came debadged though so i left it as it is, if it was badged i think id do the same
shark_90
Leave em on mate. If I had a 3.0ltr cab, I'd be shouting about it!
Milo
I like the debadged look but agree with Chav - if I had a 3.0 I might feel a bit put out that people thought it was a debadged 1.8T. Mine is debadged but in your case I would leave them on UBM
brownswood
i have to say guys being concerned that people will think your car is less powerful because you dont badge it is pathetic... come on if you want people to know you drive a powerful car put ya feckin' foot down and show em! debadgin a car should only be about removing the clutter to show of the strong looks of the car, otherwise i feel its as bad a position as badging it as something its not.. YOU ARE NOT YOUR BADGE, YOUR 4.0LTR TURBOCHARGER, YOUR JOB, YOUR HOUSE OR ANYTHING ELSE MATERIAL free your mind and the rest will follow
UBM
I'll not put the TDI bit after the 3L then! That's why I asked - looks not what it stands for! Hence the comparitive pics. I agree with CG - looks non-bling without and we can't be having th t can we...
Keegs
What do you prefer, go with your own choice, mines debadged and must admit I get asked, is it the 1.8T although its not. Still you can tell when you start it up.. I just like the clean look..
DeanW
Wasn't to sure about this subject when I got my cab but ended up removing the badges a couple of weeks ago and personally I think it looks better. Definately a lot more tidy at the rear end. If it's for the look whip 'em off
Huss
Another vote for debadged. It does look cleaner, but then again mine's a 1.8 so I would say that wouldn't I Honestly even if I had a DB9 I'd have it debadged...truly.
Milo
[ QUOTE ] Honestly even if I had a DB9 I'd have it debadged [/ QUOTE ] Probably by the local chavs if you suddenly acquired a DB9
Milo
Mine looks hideous with the 1.9 Tdi badges on so it was ordered debadged
Scotty
but we can see it's a diesel anyway! Just joking. I think it looks quite nice debadged...but mine are staying.
Milo
Ah yes but you don't know if it's the 115PS or 130PS - stealth
Scotty
Very true. The only debadging I've done is to get rid of the horrid black plastic advert under the numberplate. May I be so bold as to suggest you may wish to do the same.
Avus_Bub
I still think it looks odd with no A4 badge. At least leave that on IMO of course. I took the 1.8T badge off and replaced it with a ' S '
