Chav
dont fall for that one Sparky...graphics performance is mainly down to the co-pros, ram speed and bus speeds. dont fall for a silly cpu benchmark. there's a reason that the xbox I only has a 700mhz cpu .... it does feck all! Chav
and dont fall for cpu benchmarks in any case, they are extremely easy to rig...e.g depends on cache size, operation sequence and vector processing etc. all console stats are "massaged"
Sparky
The PS3 is bigger than the Xbox 360, so it must be faster.

Sparky
Don't forget that they are using a cut-down, or limited version of the Cell processor. Not sure why, mind.

CarMad
Specs on the new PS3 look might impressive which ever way you look at it. A very powerful Cell chip with 8 engines - 7 in use and 1 for redundancy. The Graphics engine as Chav says is more important, so hows about it is more powerful than 2 6800 Ultra Nvida PC cards combined. Now I don't know about you but that is some raw power. Throw in that it will fully support HD TV and things are looking great for the consumer. Considering that power would cost you £600 alone at the moment and the console itself could look very cheap indeed when you look at the specs. Memory access speeds also look very heathy when you compare them with a PC thats for sure. Will have to see what its like head to head with the Xbox 360 and what the developers can come up with. Either way things are looking very good indeed.

Snail
Not sure if anyone has seen this, but here is M$'s evaluation of PS3 vs x360. Linky Its probably a bit biased, but if they are correct, then for all the hype, the PS3 is NOT the more powerful machine
Sparky
Biased if you ask me. MS are very good at that sort of thing. I'll be sticking with the PS3.
