english Posted May 19, 2005 Report Share Posted May 19, 2005 I've noticed a lot of a3's around here got dumb valves fitted to their a3 sports is it worth me doing this or is it just boy racers wanting to here the pshhhhhh sound? Paul Posted May 19, 2005 Report Share Posted May 19, 2005 sound crap can feck up the fueling. generally have to be relocated to work effectively hamper performance, as recirculating the excess boost in the oem system keeps turbo spun up between gear changes. Hopsta Posted June 5, 2005 Report Share Posted June 5, 2005 On all VAG cars they are called DV's still but it stands for Diverter Valve and not Dump Valve. Whereby the boost from the turbo is re-circualted back in to keep it spinning. Upgraded DV's cost from around £70, having said that the standard Audi ones are about £16 from VAGparts and will suffice on a standard car.
