BenjaminTDI
I do agree the ride is hard if you are coming from a merc, as I did, my s-line felt very hard to begin with. but now i'm used to it, I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as my mates CTR though. Milo
[ QUOTE ] 1. How does a 1.8T s-line cab resemble the S4?; To be fair, the S4s are so understated that at a first glance to the untrained eye, Joe Soap probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. 2. Where is the extra chrome trim? The s-line gets facette aluminium interior as standard. 3. How can the rise be too hard? The Audi sales monkey spent 10 minutes me that the s-line suspension setup plus 18" wheels would be so hard that I would be hospitalised within the week. Well nearly. What a great salesman, eh? 4. Oh, you can't spec 18" wheels on a Sport cab then? I think they mean the s-line has them as standard kit now (£720-£890 option on Sport depending on style). 5. UBM
I just read the article and thought what a pile of poo - was wondering if it was written by Audi UK! Please - if you're going to include extra chrome (not ally Milo!) then do it properly!
richy_uk
I thought Audi made a thing about the environmetal unfriendliness of chrome hence there choice to predominantly use anodised and polished aluminium. I think the only exterior chrome on a A4 cab is around the upper and lower grilles.
UBM
[ QUOTE ] I thought Audi made a thing about the environmetal unfriendliness of chrome [/ QUOTE ] So why quote it? Perhaps AutoExpress need to learn the difference between Chrome (an alloy) and Aluminium (an element)!
richy_uk
....oh and back to the point, that S line pack does nothing for the cab and seems awfully expensive.

UBM
I agree! I saw one in my stealers - prices at 28,650 with the S-line pack only (no other options!). I was offered it for 26,500........a 1.8T S-line that is! I'd rather buy my own 18"s, allly trim for inside and stick with the current Sport suspension which isn't going to give me a permanent disability! Chav
We could sell a special edition "TSN-edition A4 cab" e.g. we charge a premimum of a couple of grand, and we add S4 grills/vents and mirrors, new light bulbs. say we add £1950 to the price, the cost of the bits is around £200, so thats not a bad profit margin, even if UBM charges £100 an hour to change the bulbs. Chav
RS6's dont look so cool on the cab though do they I need to decide on some wheels in next couple of months as need new tyres, and all 4 wheels have bespoke remodelling ...so was going to look for a wheel/tyre set. ian_m
I know what you mean about the RS6's, they dont seem to have the same effect on a cab! Go for the ones in your sig Chav, they look great! I saw one in black with those wheels a while ago, looked fantastic! It also had all round privacy glass (not windscreen obviously) but in a pimp sort of way it did look cool! The MTM ones will be quite expensive though, and I'll grind them against a kerb within a week or two. For the record: I blame cambridge's parking facilities, not my parking skills
gizze
I love the MTM wheels and the Sportec version too, set about to finish on ebay at the mo I believe, but don't like the A8 12 spokes at all, they look like big chrome hub caps! And I don't think you can tint a cabs windows, I saw one foing through town the other day but it looks daft when the hood is down and the windows are up. I had mine booked in to have them down but luckily I saw that one first.
Phantom
MTMs on a cab are , tinting windows on a cab is bloody pointless IMHO , I can't imagine driving a cab with tinted windows with the roof down. Plus the edges of the tint would probably wear away as the windows keep locating into the roof Anyone got any pics of a tinted window cab , just for laugh purposes
Milo
The s-line pack is good value IMO. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin. Anyone who buys a cab would usually go for a sport which is £750. The s-line is £1950 so what do you get for the extra £1200? 1. 18" wheels versus 17" saving you £720-£890. 2. Interior light pack saving you £145. 3. Half leather interior saving you £775. 4. Brushed aluminium interior (not facette as I first thought). 5. S-line suspension, a sportier (perforated) steering wheel and various s-line badges. And for me, a big attraction is you can have Avus Silver for £430 rather than have to pay £1530 through the Audi Exclusive Programme. I think it's an attractive offer for those looking to buy a B6 cab. One more thing, while I love the 18" RS6 wheels, they don't look right on the cab. I think you need the 9-spoke wheels.
