blue sidelights?

I have just got some of these which I plan to fit at the weekend. Should have some pics up soon.

http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=44_57&products_id=920

Have run them up on a bench supply and they give a nice white light much closer to the HIDs than any filament bulb I have used. Have no idea on whether they are legal or not mind you...

Blue?! You need to go to ChavBits.com...

You can get white LED replacements from www.ultraleds.com

"2 x (233) BA9 - 9mm BC One Led White Bulb = £5.88" is what I ordered but they didn't have stock so they shipped out the 6 LED versions instead.

You need to file one of the pins down on the side of the bulbs where it goes into the bulb holder, because the R sidelights have got an offset pin - one at 12 o'clock and one at 7 o'clock as you look at it from the rear.

Mine arrived this morning from Ultra LEDs and will be fitted this weekend - will post pic once got them on.

I think you'll find that if you have coloured sighlights you will be breaking the law. Coloured lights are not suitable for highway use in the UK.

I guess if they were light white / blue you could get away with it but outright blue would be a No No.

Used to run Philips Blue Vision H6W sidelight bulbs and these made a big difference compared to the standard yellow as custard sidelights.

Turn on the Xenons with the new white 6 LED sidelight bulb (not photographed coz you can't see the sidelights when they're on!) and the colour is exactly the same as the Xenons, i.e. brilliant white.

You can get these from www.ultraleds.com - follow DogBucket's link above or try clicking here.

Need to go and stick the other bulb in now...

MauveGecko - I was just about to post some pics, but your one seems to illustrate the result much better than mine so I wont bother cool.gif

You can kinda see in your pics the only downside to the LED lights which I noticed, and that is they dont illuminate the whole reflector quite as well as the bulb. I guess due to the directional nature of the light from the LED. You sorta end up with a bright white spot in the bottom of the light.

Other than that they look very cool and compliment the HIDs perfectly, I will certainly be keeping mine in.

Trouble is I have also still got to fit the battery side one so it could be bumper off job....

It's def not a bumper off job. Take off the plastic guards at the top of the light unit and then unscrew the two torx bolts holding the top of the unit in. Lean it forward and, with a bit of careful moving around, you can get the sidelights and the main beam H7's out. I've done this twice on mine now (once for the PIAA H7 replacements and once for the Philips Blue Vision sidelights).

You'll probably get sore hands but it's a lot better than taking the bumper off!

So which is the best sidelight bulb to go for, as im thinking of changing them?

Any pictures?

See my post above 5 or 6 posts above this one - pic is of my R with one side as LED and one side as Philips Blue Vision. LED is better IMO. 169144-ok.gif
