[Audi A3/S3] Air bag fault code

Hi folks,

My car developed an airbag problem today and on connecting VAGCOM to the car it registered a 65535 fault code.

Does anyone know if this can be reset at the dealers or do I need a new one?

Does anyone know where I can get a new Airbag module?

hi mate,

that code rings a bell, and also airbag problems when scanning with vagcom, although it appears to be a VW issue with a different controller part number.

however...

regardless of wether this code was created by scanning, or if it was already there , it appears its not one that can be cleared.

Thanks for the info. After I posted the article I done some more digging into this issue and found the same info on Ross-tech.

When looking at ETKA it appears that the control module is located below the centre console.

Does anyone know if this is easy to remove and how it is removed.

Can I run the car if the Airbag controller is removed from the vehicle and is there anything needs done with VAGCOM to change the controller.
